Exam Schedule

The Board of Editors in the Life Sciences offers the examination via Prometric, a global testing service provider. The exam is available quarterly each year, with the option to test at a Prometric site or via remote assessment.

The testing windows are as follows:

  • January 1-31
  • April 1-30
  • July 1-31
  • October 1-31

*Please note, for 2020, the exam will be offered from October 15-November 15.

You can visit the Prometric site to search for a testing center location near you: https://www.prometric.com/site-status. Please visit the remote assessment page on the Prometric site for more information on taking your exam remotely.

Once the registration form has been completed and the fee has been paid, BELS will enter you into the Prometric (the computer-based testing company BELS uses) exam system.  Prometric will then send you instructions on how to find a testing center near you or how to opt for remote assessment. They will also send communication on how to schedule your exam in a timeslot that best fits your availability.
