BELS Board of Directors – Call for Nominations

Dear BELS Members

Would you like to contribute to the success of BELS and be an integral part of shaping its future? Submit a nomination for the BELS Board of Directors!

We are currently seeking candidates for the positions of President-Elect, Treasurer, and Directors At Large (two seats available). Learn more about the open positions below. Self-nominations are permitted and encouraged.

To qualify for a BELS Board position, the nominee must

  • be a BELS member in good standing;
  • commit to attending monthly conference calls with fellow BELS Board members (currently the third Wednesday of the month at 11 am central time);
  • agree to attend one annual face-to-face BELS Board meeting (typically the Sunday following AMWA);
  • agree to abide by the “Commitment to Serve” guidelines and the BELS Code of Ethics.

Available Offices:

President-Elect - serves a term of 1 year (2023) immediately preceding their term as president (2024-2025). The president-elect shall be advised by the president in preparation for their role as president, preside at meetings of the Board or the members in the absence of the president, and in the case of the president’s incapacity, fulfill any duties of the president that the president cannot perform.

Treasurer - serves as an active member of the BELS Board of Directors for 2 years and is responsible for all funds, securities, audits, and financial records of the corporation. The treasurer is also chair of the Budget and Finance Committee.

At Large Board position – serves a two-year term on the BELS Board of Directors and chairs a BELS committee. Two positions are currently available.
