Presenting Yourself Professionally feat. Kim Mankiewicz, PhD, ELS

It takes more than skill to be valuable in the workplace and in your community.  Presenting yourself as a professional sets the tone and rules for your interactions.  In this event, Kimberly A. Mankiewicz, PhD, ELS, will explore professionalism in (and outside of) the workplace, including virtually.  She will discuss why presentation is important and how to best represent yourself when both writing and speaking to make the greatest impact.  She will also give some tips on how to nail your first impression so that you are remembered (for all the right reasons!).

Presenter: Kimberly A. Mankiewicz, PhD, ELS
Kim is a Scientific Editor at the Center for Translational Injury Research at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston (UTHealth) and member of the BELS Membership and Marketing Committee.  In addition to her 12+ years of medical writing and editing experience at UTHealth, Kim is currently the Immediate Past President, Chapter Advisory Council Representative, and Communications Chair for the AMWA Southwest Chapter.  She has served on the boards of several organizations over the course of her career, as well as working in customer service roles, and has learned (sometimes the hard way) that how you represent yourself can make all the difference in how people see  you and for finding career and life opportunities.
